Our shop is located just west of Ellensburg, WA. Built in 2000 on the family property, it was used initially to build our house, then as a fun place for personal projects and sharing our passion for woodworking. It has now become the home of the family business, Perennial Woodworks.

Dan Beck

Dan began woodworking as a kid building chicken coops and snake cages. In middle and high school he took every woodshop class offered, including vocational cabinetmaking as a student, then as an apprentice. After college, he worked as a framer and finish carpenter, then at Wood Revival Desk Company in Salt Lake City building custom furniture. He moved to Ellensburg in 1994 after getting hired as a biology professor at Central Washington University. In 2000, with plans to build a straw-bale house, he built his dream wood-shop. Now ,after enjoying a lifetime of commercial and hobbyist woodworking, he has combined forces with his son to start Perennial Woodworks.

In his free-time from retirement, Dan enjoys hiking, skiing, backpacking, and turning bowls in the shop.

Langdon Ernest-Beck

Langdon was born in Ellensburg and raised on the property with the shop. He attended Montana State University where his passion for woodworking grew. He has now moved back to Ellensburg and is pursuing woodworking professionally, using his engineering training from college.

When not in the shop, Langdon is a climber and alpinist. His favorite place is atop a mountain, or sleeping in the backcountry. In the winters he works for a cat-skiing operation here in WA and spends his days skiing in the backcountry.
